It was our first time visiting Paris and my wife loved the idea of eating breakfast in the Versailles Palace! The restaurant's interior was beautiful and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had a delicious breakfast with pastries, eggs, sausages, and drinks like tea, coffee, and juice. After breakfast, we walked through a side door to enter the Palace in no time at all. A completely seamless experience!
The breakfast was lovely, and we felt fancy sitting in such a nice place with such accommodating staff! We were very happy that we had a Palace entrance ticket, too. Versailles was absolutely amazing! All the rooms are so big and impressive, I especially enjoyed the Hall of Mirrors and the Marble Courtyard. All in all, a 10/10 experience!

EXPLORE THE PALACE OF VERSAILLES AT YOUR OWN PACE
Being one of the greatest achievements in French 17th-century art, it is no wonder that the Palace of Versailles has been listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. One of the first things you will see when you walk in is The Marble Courtyard, the original courtyard of the palace with its black and white tiles, built by Louis XIII. Close to the courtyard are the Grand Apartments including the King and Queen’s Chambers, and the Hall of Mirrors, one of the most famous rooms of the Palace with 357 mirrors and 10.5 meters (34 feet) high ceilings hand painted by Charles Le Brun.
EXPERIENCE THE GRANDEUR OF THE PALACE
Being the largest Palace in France, Versailles is home to many large rooms. The largest room in the Palace is the Gallery of Great Battles. At 120 meters (394 feet) long and 13 meters (43 feet) wide, this room will give you a true feeling of the grandeur of the Palace. This room is the most important Gallery in the Palace. Created by King Louis-Philippe, it features around 30 massive paintings depicting French military successes over 15 centuries.

Did you know that King Louis XIV often had his breakfast served cold?
Just like in most palaces, the servant work areas, including the kitchen, were far away from the king’s dining area. For a palace as big as the Versailles, this meant that a hot meal never really remained hot when it reached Louis XIV’s table. So, even with hundreds of servants at the Palace of Versailles, the king often ate lukewarm or cold meals. Nevertheless, cold meals are a small price to pay to live in such a palace.
